The Career.

The Community Relations Manager (CRM) initially reports to the Community Director and works closely with the Meadowlands management team as well as the V!VA's Home Office team to develop and execute a plan to successfully meet the sales goals/occupancy targets. This includes initiating and following up on sales leads, acting as V!VA's ambassador to the surrounding community, facilitating tours, conducting competitor analysis, and working as a positive and contributing member of the community team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages in the prospect centered relationship-selling process with each prospect and their family. 
  • Develops and manages a network of local referral sources.
  • Sets appointments with interested prospects/families via phone and email and conducts tours.
  • Provides information on the retirement community to the general public including prospects and community organizations.
  • Coordinates all outreach events including trade shows, special events, community seminars, and charitable associations.
  • Routinely reviews the database to identify leads, follows-up on leads from all sources, and creates sales strategies for prospective residents and families.
  • Tracks referrals and follows up according to an established V!VA sales approach.
  • Maintains updated records of sales and community relations/organizations through V!VA's customer relations management software.
  • Manages a budget in accordance with the Community Outreach and Sales Plan
  • Monitors market competition, market conditions in territory, and prepares and distributes competitor analysis.
  • Manages inventory and ordering of all promotional material used at the community.
  • Contributes local insights for the strategic planning of all marketing and leasing initiatives.
  • Assists the Community Directors and Sales teams in identifying competitive challenges.
  • Provides input to Home Office regarding media and advertising opportunities.
  • Educates (Market) the general community about the services and value of V!VA Retirement Communities.
  • Builds personal relationships (Sell) with people to assist them through their decision-making process.
  • Establishes and assures timely, open and effective communication with all Team Members, Community Members and family members, assuring that all expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the annual marketing budget and management plan, ensuring excellent public relations and customer service while achieving the occupancy goals set for the community.
  • Assists in assuring that the physical retirement community is properly maintained in a clean, safe manner and is presentable for prospective residents, family members and guests at all times.
  • Participates in and attends all in-service training and education programs as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

  • Qualifications:

 

  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the retirement living, healthcare, real estate, pharmaceutical, or hospitality related industries.  Candidates with a proven track record of achieving/exceeding targets e.g., increasing occupancy levels will be given preferential consideration.
  • Minimum 2 years sales experience required.
  • Post secondary education would be an asset, preferably in business related field.
  • Interested in working in a highly customer service-oriented environment and thriving on making a difference in the lives of seniors.
  • Confident, results oriented, self-starter who is able to take initiative to play a contributing role in the Community Management Team.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Strong networking and proven community outreach skills.
  • Strong sales presentation skills and strong ability to "close the sale".
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills.
  • An enthusiastic leader who fosters a positive environment and is committed to putting smiles on the faces of others.
  • Is flexible to work changing work hours e.g. ability to work weekends and some evenings
  • Has access to a vehicle, possesses a clean Class G driver license, and is able to drive as a requirement of the position.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, strong Excel knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge general CRM skills, especially CRM systems designed for seniors’ retirement and rentals space.
  • Strong customer orientation to older adults.
